The Nymph Melissa grew up the little god Zeus with honey and milk, in a cave on Mount Dikti of Crete island, addicting him to his taste. Zeus loved honey and even one of his names is “MELITES” in honor of bee’s food. (Zeus was the god’s father, according to Greek Mythology). Honey is the material that bees collect from parts of plants or from insect secretions. They carry it in their hive, enrich it and store it in the hermits until until it becomes mature.
