From spring to July we collect royal jelly. Royal jelly is a creamy substance produced by bees as food for the future queen. It is produced by the specialized glands of the bee workers ‘throats and differs from honey as it is not secreted by the bees’ body. The royal jelly feeds the bee larvae, who will become queens. At first, these larvae are no different from the workers themselves, but as they grow older they become queens thanks to royal jelly.
Royal jelly is the most complete natural dietary supplement.
It is a rich source full of protein, amino acids, lipids, vitamins and minerals. There is a widespread perception that it has a beneficial effect on humans.
Specifically, it contains 67% water, 12.5% protein and amino acids, 11% simple sugars (monosaccharides) and 5% fatty acids. It also contains many trace elements, enzymes, antibacterial and antibiotic elements and traces of vitamin C.
A teaspoon is recommended in the morning – before eating anything – under the tongue until it is absorbed. Children should take half a teaspoon and athletes and patients up to two.
